Around 4 years ago I started on my newborn photography journey. Very quickly I came across Kelly Brown at Little Pieces Photography. I drooled over the exquisite photography and admired everything single thing Kelly did.
She lives in Australia, around the other side of the world and it felt that our paths would never cross. I followed Kelly on social media and on Creative Live. Kelly is an ambassador for the art of newborn photography and a passionate advocate for newborn safety and that always appealed to me. I would drink up every word she said and learned so much from watching and listening to her online. Then this happened!
Yes that’s me with Kelly Brown! I was extremely fortunate to be one of the lucky few in the UK to get a place on her 2 day workshop. Me! yes Me!
Newborn training is a huge part of my business. Firstly I put the safety of babies first and also I want to create the best images of your beautiful babies as I can and if I can learn from one of the best in the world then its going to give me and my business a massive boost.
The workshop was held in London at Russ Jackson’s studio and I was very excited not only to meet Kelly but to also meet some amazing newborn photographers who I’d got to know through Facebook groups. The day was jam packed with ideas, tips, techniques and laughs and I had a really good time….the evening was full of gossip, pizza and wine but what goes on tour stay on tour haha! The second day focussed more on the business side and I was impressed at how much there is to learn in this area and Kelly and her assistant Garrett were amazing at showing us how to improve marketing and look after the financial side (it’s not just pretty pictures)
Photographers – if you ever get the chance to see Kelly speak or blag a place on her workshop. Do it. She is so inspirational, sharing and genuinely interested in getting up all to where we want to be. I came away rejuvenated and literally raring to go!
Parents – Your babies are so precious, so beautiful and to capture that in their first portraits is my passion. Come to my studio and see how it’s all done!
LOVE this Karen, well done xxx
