Before I picked up the keys to my first studio space, I started on a career path of being a Wedding Photographer. After my own wedding in 2007, I caught the photography bug big time and I began to assist some local established wedding photographers with my little Nikon D40 and D90. Then after more than 20 years as a civil servant, and with the security that job gave me, I handed in my notice and put all my faith, and bank account balance, into the hands of my own abilities.
I’m approaching ten years of wedding photography and I’ll soon hit a total of 400 weddings. I often joke that my newborn photography happened by chance, the side-affect of couples getting married is that sooner or later, a tiny little new human is going to appear on the scene. I’ll often see wedding couples come to the studio following their wedding to discuss frames or albums and they can’t hide the excitement in their faces, and they burst out that they are expecting!
I’ve actually been called the fertility photographer!
I’m always amazed and always remain very thankful that my wedding photography business has grown on the back of so many recommendations. We hear new couples tell us all the time about how they attended a wedding we shot, or they have seen someone else’s wedding images and they were so impressed that they wanted to come and chat about their own wedding.
We loved your work from the beginning and then it really sealed the deal when both of my parents were absolutely mad for it too! (My Dad actually started tearing up when I read him one of

the testimonials)
So anyway, I’ve just finished another full year of weddings, and what a year! Neil and I have travelled the country again and visited some amazing venues, we’ve met some lovely families and had such a giggle with wedding guests and other wedding suppliers. It really is difficult to say that this is actually a ‘job’ because it is so enjoyable. Walking into a dressing room and seeing a dress hanging… waiting to be put on and adored, then seeing a proud dad walk his little girl those few steps down the aisle, the nervous first kiss, the applause, the drinks and the nerves and tears of speeches, and then the shuffle of a first dance; they are all moments throughout the day that I’m there to capture!
I couldn’t just show a few images from a selection of weddings, so here they all are…

Being a wedding photographer is very rewarding, but regardless of the job I do, it is always amazing to receive feedback, especially when it is lovely as this…
I could not recommend Karen and Neil enough! When we first set a date I had seen many examples of Their work so myself and my husband arranged a meeting with Karen and Neil straight away. Karen and Neil were both friendly and professional, they got back to us quickly to arrange a meeting where we knew quickly that we had made the right decision and booked them within 10 mins of leaving. They have a real passion for what they do and you get that really quickly when talking to them, they made us both feel confident our choice straight away! They gave us some great advice about wedding photography- which was much appreciated between booking them and our wedding they were responsive to emails and got back to us quickly, we had a meeting 6 weeks before to finalise everything and their experience really shone through, they really thought about details of our wedding that we hadn’t thought of to photograph- they were really keen to ensure all the small details of our wedding were captured- which looking back was invaluable! On the day they were fantastic, they really did blend into the back Ground but when needed to they were great at getting the attention of our wedding party for photos. Karen and Neil arrived promptly, and got to work quickly, they made us both feel at ease, we both hate having our photos taken but by the end of the day my husband said he really enjoyed his time with Karen and Neil. The after care was fantastic- we had a preview of our wedding photos within 2 days and the whole lot within 6 week, even though it was peak wedding season! Karen and neil work great together- they are a super team! I’d highly recommend them to anyone that is getting married! They were absolute superstars! Thank you! Amy and Paul Lumley xx

We’ve photographed couples from Manhattan to London and been to Castles, Halls, Manor Houses, Lodges, Granges, Farms, Tea rooms, Parlours and Churches. On the way, we’ve battled with the beast of the east and won, and had to use ice cubes to cool down a bride on the hottest of days! From the castles of the Scottish Borders to the coastline of Northumberland and Newcastle, to the Lake District, to the villages of York, we seem to have been all over.
The life of a wedding photographer can sometimes present you with the most random things… but I love it and I’m so looking forward to working with all our 2019 couples!
Beautiful. I love your wedding work!
