Firstly can I say congratulations on your good news! Choosing a newborn or baby photographer can be confusing and you might not even know what it is you are looking for. I’ve pulled together some important points to help you make your decision.

Whether you’ve just found out you are pregnant, you’ve just given birth or looking forward to celebrating a milestone with your baby, I am looking forward to meeting you, creating special memories and freezing time for you so you can remember those fleeting first weeks, months or years. I know all too well how fast children grow up and I look back now with a little sadness that I didn’t have a newborn shoot with my daughter or take enough photos while she was young.

I’ve been photographing babies and children for 5 years now and last year I moved into bigger and better premises in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle. But why choose Tiny Baby Studio?

Newborn Comfort and Safety.

This is top of the list for a reason… it’s the thing that matters most to me. Your baby is the most precious thing I will ever hold and I will treat your baby with the same loving tenderness you do and I’ll always put their comfort and safety first.

I have been on multiple specialist training courses with top UK and International photographers and I’ve been trained on newborn safety.

My studio is heated and will quite often be too warm for clothed adults but not for babies while they are snoozing and posing happily. I will constantly be checking the temperature and adjusting things if I think baby is too warm or too cold.

My props are all chosen carefully for baby’s comfort and lined with beautiful soft blankets or fur for baby to snuggle into and I pose babies on a soft beanbag. Whenever baby is sleeping in a prop (a bowl for example) I will insist that either Mum or Dad is very close by with hands on or close to baby for safety. Many of the photographs I take have parents hands supporting the head or neck and then I remove the hands when I work in the photos later. All clever stuff and this ensures your baby remains safe and comfortable throughout the shoot.

A Dedicated Studio

Last year I moved into a gorgeous studio in The Ouseburn Valley which is just a couple of mins outside Newcastle upon Tyne City Centre and close to The Quayside. Parking is easy here and sometimes you can find a free spot right outside if you are lucky. Once you’ve arrived you can just relax in comfort while I work my magic with your baby. I have toilet facilities, free wifi, a coffee machine, free water and snacks and a few toys to entertain excited toddlers. I can warm bottles and there is a changing table with wipes, nappies etc so don’t worry if you forget anything!

Prop, Props and even more Props!

Ok it’s official I have an addiction!! I adore beautiful newborn props and I can often be found hunting them out in antique markets or online to ensure I have some original pieces. I also have a FANTASTIC mother who knits the most amazing hats, outfits and wraps for me. To be honest, anyone who has ever been to my studio will tell you I have a LOT of props… from gorgeous floral headbands to wooden bowls to bunny hats! If you have a special request… just ask! I have an array of styles and colours so there will always be something to suit your taste.

The Family Photographer

One of the things that gives me the most job satisfaction is seeing a family grow. There are many times I’ve photographed a couple’s wedding and then I’ve been overjoyed when they’ve returned for a bump and newborn shoot and returned again for a First Birthday Cake smash and the again for baby number two!
